Combining tours in Kenya and Rwanda offers a diverse and enriching East African experience. Kenya is renowned for its classic savannah safaris, particularly in the Masai Mara, while Rwanda provides unique opportunities for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. This combination allows travelers to witness the “Big Five” wildlife in Kenya and then encounter endangered Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda’s misty forests. The tour will is organized in August when the animal migration period in Maasai Mara and it is also a good period for trekking primates in Rwanda.

Safari Itinerary
On arrival you Meet our driver at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening and transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Sarova New Stanley Hotel.
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Nakuru National Park to be there in time for lunch with afternoon game drive, besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for; there are approx. 400 other species of birds in the lake, many species of game found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s Giraffe, Black and White Rhino, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard and many species of plains game. All meals and overnight at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp.
Early Morning Game drive before breakfast, after breakfast you will depart to the Mara Reserve, home to the big five and numerous plains game. You will arrive in time for check in and lunch before departing for afternoon game drives; all meals and overnight at Mara Sentrim Lodge.
Take an extensive full day game drive into the reserve covered with rolling grasslands dotted with acacia and hazy forested hills and river line bush where the Mara River and its tributaries meander, Maasai Mara is considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 1510 sq Kms of this reserve adjoin Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one eco-system. Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topis, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra. From July to September, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plain and seek out new grazing areas, a full day game drive with picnic lunch at the hippo pool on the banks of the Mara River were the crossing of the Gnus [wildebeests] takes place while the killer crocodiles await, will be the best experience ever. Early morning game drive before breakfast, after breakfast, you will depart for Lake Naivasha, which is the highest Lake in The Rift Valley arriving in good time for check in and lunch. Lake Naivasha is famous in the 1930’s as a staging post for Imperial Airways Flying Boat Services from Durban to London and you can see the Lake sparkling in the sun thousands of feet below. Proceed for lunch followed by afternoon boat ride. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Resort

Early breakfast then departs for Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain; Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most popular national parks with lunch enroute at a local restaurant in Nairobi. Amboseli lies 150 miles southeast of Nairobi, very close to the Tanzania border. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli and the Observation Hill, which allows an overall view of the whole park especially the swamps and elephants. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.
Full day in Amboseli with a full day game drives with picnic lunch, optional returning to the lodge for hot lunch, another game drive at 1600 hrs. Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain; Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most popular national parks. Maasai village visit will be ideal on this day in the afternoon. All meals and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.
Today after breakfast, you will drive back to Nairobi to arrive in good time to do your final shopping or visit some of the beautiful Galleria malls and city market centres, to purchase some gifts such as wooden carvings to take them home, then proceed for an early dinner at Carnivore Restaurant before transfer to the airport for your evening flight to Kigali (1.20 min of flight). On your arrival in Kigali, you meet our driver, after greeting will transfer you to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Chez lando Hotel.
After breakfast, we have a tour of Kigali City, the cleanest city in Africa; visit Kigali Genocide Memorial, and after lunch we are driving to Nyungwe National Park to reach on dinner time; accommodation at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel .
After breakfast, we go to canopy walk, a 70m high and 160m long suspended bridge in canopy of Nyungwe NP. Afternoon we have tea experience to know how tea is planted, maintained and processed up to the consumable product; accommodation at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel.
Chimpanzees are endangered primate with 99% of their DNA similar to humans! Trekking starts early morning, at 5am and can go up to lunch time; After lunch we drive to Lake Kivu; accommodation at Cormoran Lodge.
After breakfast, we have a boat cruise to see the beauty of Islands of Lake Kivu until 10am when we have experience on coffee processing before we drive to Volcanoes National Park; accommodation at Ingagi Park View.
Trekking Mountain Gorillas is the unique opportunity to observe these gentle giants in their natural habitat, the thrill of the adventure, and the positive impact it has on conservation efforts. Trekking starts at 7am after registration and briefing at the park headquarters. After lunch and a brief break, we interact with former poachers at Gorilla Guardian Village to learn more about Rwandan culture and conservation initiatives (Alternatively, can visit Ellen DeGeneres Campus and learn work and legacy of Dian Fossey); accommodation at Ingagi Park View.
Trekking Golden Monkeys; same as day 6, trekking of golden Monkeys starts from the park headquarters at 7am and can go until 12am. After lunch we drive to Kigali (3 hours) for an evening flight; END
