Uganda is rich in culture, attractive landscapes, and wildlife. It is a home to 20 species of primates, savanna wildlife, and 1,090 species of birds. Kibale Park is known for its variety of primates, while Bwindi Forest and Mgahinga National Parks are renowned as home to mountain gorillas. Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Parks have a diversity of habitats and are Uganda’s most popular savanna parks and the best places to observe lions, elephants, and leopards.

Safari Itinerary

Upon your arrival, the driver will welcome you and transfer to the Airport Guest House for dinner and accommodation.

We drive to the Mabamba Swamp to see Shoebill before we drive to Ziwa Rhino Wildlife Ranch; accommodation at Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch.

We have a morning visit to Ziwa Sanctuary to meet the Rhinos. For bird lovers, the sanctuary is a home to 300 bird species among others White-crested Turaco and African Ground Hornbill. After lunch, we drive to Murchison Falls National Park; accommodation at Pakuba Safaris Lodge.

We have a morning safari to meet herds of elephants, Uganda Cob, Giraffes, Oribi, etc. In the afternoon, we have a boat cruise to the fabulous Murchison Falls where the park originates the name; accommodation at Pakuba Safaris Lodge.

We have a morning safari to observe more wildlife and birds until lunchtime. For bird lovers, the Park is a premier birding destination with over 450 species, featuring unique savannah, water and forest birds. Top, special sightings include the Secretary Bird, Abyssinian Ground Hornbil, etc. Afternoon, we drive to Masindi town; accommodation at Masindi Hotel.

We drive to Kibale Forest to reach at lunchtime. In the afternoon, we take a walk in Bigodi swamp to observe primates and colourful birds. For primate photographer, you encounter Red Colobus Monkey and Red-tailed Monkeys. For bird lovers, the swamp hosts over 200 species, most notably the Great Blue Turaco, Papyrus Gonolek and Black Bee-eater; accommodation at Kibale Forest Camp.

We leave early for the Chimpanzee trek. For birders, Kibale hosts over 375 bird species, including Albertine Rift endemics and rare birds like Green-breasted Pitta. Afternoon, we drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to arrive at dinner time; accommodation at Bush Lodge.

During the safari we encounter savannah animals like Waterbuck, Buffaloes, Elephants. At 2pm, we head to Kazinga the channel to see animals coming to drink. For bird lovers, you can see African Fish Eagle, Red-throated Bee-eater, Madagascar Bee-eater, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater; accommodation at The Bush Lodge.

We drive towards the Bwindi park. We have a lunch stop en route and accommodation is at Ride 4 A Woman.

You will spend a precious and impressive hour just a few meters from the gorillas; the trek goes until lunchtime. Bwindi is also known for forests and endemic birds to the Albertine Rift like Bar-tailed Trogon, Kivu Ground Thrush, Chapin’s Flycatcher. Afternoon, we go for a community walk and visit craft shops; accommodation at Ride 4 A Woman.

We leave Bwindi after breakfast and head to Mburo Lake National Park. After a lunch, we have a brief safari to see savanna animals such as giraffes, zebras, antelopes, etc. We can also take a sunset cruise on Lake Mburo; accommodation is at Eagle Nest Camp.

At Mburo Lake National Park, numerous activities continuously arise; walking around the park is a unique way to explore the park and its boundaries. The walk guarantees an encounter with giraffes, zebras, elands, buffaloes, and many others. Around 11:00 a.m., we drive to Kampala with a stop for a hot lunch and a craft shop. Later in the afternoon, we will proceed to Entebbe for an evening flight; END
