Safari Itinerary
Upon arrival, the driver will welcome you and transfer you at Airport Guest House (15 minutes from the Entebbe airport) for dinner and accommodation.
In the morning, you will have behind the scenes tour at Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC). They go shadow the animal care takers in feed the animals and learning about them, health, food, habitat, etc. if you are a bird lover, you go to Mabamba wetland to see the fabulous Shoebill Stock. By 10am, we drive to Kibale National Park to reach the lodge around 5pm; overnight and dinner at Kibale Cottages.
The habituation of Chimpanzees starts at 6.30 to 12pm when we drive back to the lodge for a short break. After a lunch, we have a walk in Bigodi Village to learn more about traditional healing and knowledge about spirits, herbs, plants and local medicines, clans and their traditional life in Ugandan community. You can also see Red-tailed Monkey and Black and White Colobus Monkey. If you are a bird lover, you can also enjoy Ross’s and Great Blue Turacos, Black Bee-eater, etc. overnight is at Kibale Cottages.
We leave Kibale after breakfast and we drive to Queen Elisabeth NP via the channel of Crater Lakes. We especially enjoy the views of Lake Ndali and Lake Mwamba. Along the Craters, we pass through farms with local crops like cassava and potatoes. As we drive to the main road towards the gate of the park and border with DRC, we drive along the fence of the park, which separates the community from the park and we can see animals like Warthog, Elephant. After checking in, we drive along the park and we can encounter Buffaloes, Ugandan Cobs and Lion; accommodation is at Bush Lodge
After breakfast, we drive along the park for a morning day game drive. By 11am, we drive to to Kazinga, an 11km channel connecting Lake George and Lake Eduard, on the Katunguru side. Lake Eduard is shared by Uganda (35%) and DRC (65%). We stay 2 hours at the channel to see Hippopotamus with Elephants coming for watering. At 1p, we drive to the lodge for lunch break and an afternoon relax at the Bush Lodge
After breakfast, we drive to the fishing village to learn the fishing activity and how communities cohabit with wild animals. We continue our game drive toward Ishasha Sector and our lunch break is at Enjojo Lodge. Later afternoon, we start an evening game drive to try night animals like Leopard and Hyena; accommodation is at Bush Lodge.
After breakfast, we drive to Southern side of Queen Elisabeth National Park, towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way we try the climbing Lions and we can also see Topi and other savannah animals. We exit the park around 12pm and we drive to Buhoma where our accommodation is booked at Gorilla Mist Camp.
The unique opportunity to see gorillas in their natural habitat is unforgettable. The groups of Mountain Gorillas consist of at least one silverback along with several females and youngsters. Encounters with Mountain gorillas as they go about their daily lives are carefully managed, with expert trackers and guides leading small groups of gorillas. After breakfast, we drive to headquarters at 8am, and we are allocated a family group according to fitness levels, we are briefed on protocols and rules for visiting the gorillas. After trekking, which can go until lunch time, we drive to the lodge for lunch. After a break, we can go back for nature walk to the waterfall; alternatively, we have community walk and visit handcraft shops or birdwatching; accommodation and dinner are at Gorilal Mist Camp
We leave Bwindi NP after the breakfast and we drive to Lake Mburo National Park. On the way, we have scenery of landscapes of Uganda, from the mountain areas to the savannah and flat side. Our lunch is at Rwekobo Rock. After a lunch, we have a brief game drive to see savannah animals like Giraffes, Zebra and Waterbucks.
At Lake Mburo National Park, a number of activities keep springing up, bicycle tours around park. It’s a unique way of adventuring the park and its confines. The bicycle rides at the park take a maximum of 1 hour and it guarantees you a view of Giraffes, Zebras, Elands, Buffaloes, Bushbucks and many more. By 11am we drive to Kampala with a brief stop at Equator for a hot lunch and craft shop. Later afternoon we drive to Entebbe for evening flight; END
