We meet at the airport; after greetings, our driver will take you to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay (Inside Africa Boutique Hotel). 

After breakfast, we drive to Umusambi Village, a sanctuary where confiscated crowned cranes are kept before being released back into the wild. In the afternoon, we head to Akagera National Park; we arrive at the lodge in time for dinner (Akagera Transit Lodge).

We start our safaris and game drives at 7 a.m. to see the African Big Five and many antelopes including Zebra, Impala, Waterbuck, Giraffe; the tour continues until lunchtime. In the afternoon, we have a boat cruise on Lake Ihema to see aquatic animals like crocodiles, hippos, flocks of water birds, and animals coming to drink. After the boat trip, we return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay (Akagera Transit Lodge).

We have a second day of safaris to see more savannah animals. After lunch, we drive to the volcano region to arrive at the lodge at dinner time (Karisimbi Cave Resort).

We head to the park HQ for briefing on the tre. After the trek, we visit Ellen DeGeneres (headquarters of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund) to learn more about Dian Fossey’s legacy and work to protect mountain gorillas. Optionally, you can do the mountain gorilla trek, a unique experience to have in the region (Karisimbi Cave Resort).

We visit a group of former poachers who became conservationists! We experience the Rwandan culture: traditional dance, traditional marriage, etc. Afternoon, we drive along Lake Kivu to Kibuye and we enjoy the lake breeze until dinner time (Bethany Hotel).

After breakfast, we go on a boat cruise to explore the lake islands and experience the incredible swimming cows! At 10 a.m., we drive to Nyungwe National Park. After lunch, we visit the colobus monkeys, acrobatic primates, with a group of over 400 individuals! (Ken Barham Guest House)

We start our day by visiting tea Farmers to learn about the plantation and processing; we visit both the farms and the factory. Optionally, we can go on a hike to observe chimpanzees, which starts at 5 a.m., the primate closest to humans genetically. In the afternoon, we try zipline and the 70-meter-high bridge, we explore the forest canopy, birds, and swinging primates. At 5pm we drive to the lodge for overnight (Ken Barham Guest House).

We drive to Kigali, stopping at the Royal Palace Museum to epxerience the Rwandan culture before, during, and after the colonial period and visit the traditional cows “Inyambo.” After lunch, we drive to Kigali and enjoy the lodge’s pool (Inside Africa Boutique Hotel).

After breakfast, we take a tour of Kigali, the cleanest city in Africa. We start at the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn more about the 1994 Tutsi genocide, then continue with old and new Kigali to understand how the country recovered after the genocide. After lunch, we visit a curio shop before heading to the airport for the evening flight; END
